Default Very Strange object....

I went back to the garage for a quick check of the coolant and to get the tyre re pumped up.

On refilling the Coolant and testing it a very strange object floated to the top, The only way i can describe it is it looked like a wheel off a toy car????

Neither me nore the mechanic could work out what it was or what it was for. Suffice to say the car is working well with the new gaskets and the new inlet manifold....

Now to start the mods and replacement bits and peices....

Its probably the float that has a magnet attached to it to sense the coolant level.

Are there any cable connected to bottom of coolant tank?

It was black platstic. Seriously it was round with spokes around half an inch in size with a small hole in the middle looked just like a toy car wheel never seen anything like it inside a cooling system before.

Spare wheels are meant to be in the boot, but then again they could be floating in water in the boot.

None of these cars came with an OEM level sensor in the expansion tank so you can rule that one out. There's nothing remotely like that in the system so it's been dropped in through the filling hole. I suspect it's exactly what it looks like, a toy wheel. If it walks like a duck and sounds like a duck, as they say. The question is how it got in there.

Obviously someone was working on the car, or topping up the coolant, walked away, and some child thought it a good idea to drop a toy wheel into the tank!!
Could have gone in worse places I suppose!!!
