Default Three speed fan 260?

saw one of these the other day, and it was an 04 plate facelift, but where you would normally expect the resistor to be on the cooling fan, there was nothing. Just the two plastic square lugs.

Is it possible this has a three speed fan being an early 04 plate car?

I think the V8's have a 3 speed box but only operates as 2 speed.
