From what I have seen on the BBC world news Sean the UK is going through a particularly bad cold snap at the moment so you do have to wrap up warm and add on the extra layers.
The other thing is that if you are a smoker, it does have a detrimental effect on your circulation. Toes, feet and hands are more at risk from peripheral vascular disease. In the cold weather you will feel it more in the extremities of the body. As the disease progresses, the circulation becomes restricted and is painful...sometimes numbness kicks in on the burning sensation. If you do fall into this category, you can get help from your doctor. I am an ex-smoker and suffer from this condition. It is not too bad and the meds helps big time. The medication I take also works on the nerves in the skin and helps the nervous system to repair itself. (Apparently it is suppose to make me feel less grumpy) lol Some people go onto to need other types of treatment which I wont go into I will add that not all smokers get it. Some people who suffer from diabetes and who have never smoked can also suffer in the same way. You are definitely not on your own... I did not mean to scare you! Years of rolling round on concrete floors take it's toll on the body, my back is like glass these days.
Tam, best wishes with your recovery, and Sean, nice Tattoos. Thread moved to the Social Forum, redirect left. |
