If you have a BBUS fitted then disconnecting the battery might end up annoying the neighbours.

Is it a Facelift 25, and if so did you replace the Pektron ECU that has the window relay in it?

If so you might be better off soldering in a new relay - readily available from Technozen over on The Dark Side.

He will solder it for you if you prefer.

Window controller ECU suggests pre facelift so perhaps not related to BCU?

I would suggest the OP pulls back the rubber gaiter and inspect the rear tailgate harness on right side For broken wires. An inexpensive fix with solder and heat shrink in situ. To make it easier if you disconnect the wiper motor harness there is more slack to work with the harness.
