HI Folks

A quickie question (or two) . What's a fair price for a low milage
ZT-T 260 SE 2004 mk2 in pristine condition ?

What are the major issues to look out for when buying one ???

What's the mileage and service history and is it a Private Sale or Retail?

As for issues, major one is to check the rear subframe for corrosion, although not usually an issue on Mk2 cars, it is unique to the car, it IS an MOT failure and can cost up to £3,000 to replace!

Other common issues are the heater valve which again is unique to the car, but can be replaced by one from the 260's Club for more reliability!

Other one's are drive train "shunt" if the cars been abused and leaking/noisy diffs and of course normal car checks, clutch operation, no untoward noises etc and make sure that everything is working if it's an SE, as the electronics in the boot can often get soaked due to leaks.

The major one though is to expect a maximum of 20 mpg as long as you don't drive hard and around 13 mpg in Town!

If it happens to be a Starlight Silver one, I'd say the price is somewhat optimistic at nearly £10K

There is a true statement.

Looking in absolute values for comparison puposes is OK but if you want a car you really like than a fair price is what you're willing to part with.

I said optimistic rather than unrealistic. As per the posts above, a fair price is the price people are willing to pay.

If it doesn't sell in months to come the conclusion may be the it was a tad high
