Red face driver's seat height adjustment seized

I have a 2004 MG ZT with manual seat adjustment. The seat height lever doesn't do anything and the seat is seemingly stuck in the raised position.

I've squirted lots of WD40 underneath in the hope of releasing the mechanism all to no avail.

I'm not experienced in working under the seat (apart from curing air bag problems) so does anyone have any suggestions?

Is there someone members could recommend for repairing seat mechanisms as I expect it's seized and could be restored to working order.

I don't mind where a seat specialist is but I'm in Dorset...

You need to eat more pies

The technique to lower the seat is to lift the lever, raise your backside and plop back down while holding the lever up
