anyone run lpg on their V8?
as title really. after doing steves V8 at the weekend my hunger for one has increased ten fold but it would be used quite regularly, almost a daily driver, and was wondering what running costs are like on gas?

It would give you the equivalent of approximately 38 mpg. 19mpg on LPG, paying half the price of petrol for it....
Just make sure you have enough stockists of the stuff in your vicinity....for me it is a pain in the backside! |

lpg has a lower calorific value than petrol. So expect a 10 to 15% hit on mpg over petrol.

My 4.0 V8 rangie runs on LPG, same economy as on petrol, although some people say slightly less mpg, slightly less oomph out the engine, but LPG is 45p a litre here so works out half the price of petrol

If you have a V8 you could actually afford to go over 1000 revs if it runs on LPG.

Strangely enough on my V6 going more steadily I get better mpg on petrol as you'd expect. However, on LPG it seems to make no difference how I drive; Rock solid 22 mpg blasting her or trundling along....weird..

My father says the same thing about his LPG Ford Galaxy. He just drives like an idiot now.

Oh no- have I started something.
Bottle gas at coppull do gas, and Rossy from bolton over on the 260's had his LPG'ed in Bolton- his is also up for sale, but is asking silly money at the moment. I had toyed with the idea but a good conversion is about £2500 for the V8, and I would be tempted to use it more which would put more mileage on it, and make it less special
