Default Clonk from Drivers side front on acceleration

75 tourer diesel, on pulling away or acceleration there is a graunching clonk drivers side front like something is moving, I am guessing its an engine mount or something in the drive, any suggestions ??

Get out your wheel nut tool put it onto one of your wheel nuts and the try to undo/do up the wheel nut. If the wheel moves backwards/forwards when doing this its the wishbone bush that's kaput. This is how I found out that mine was shot, took about an hour to replace.

I have had two clonks in mine. One was the front wishbone ball joint, the smaller one towards the front.

The second time around was a badly work steering control arm joint, outer. Only had play when the wheels were on the ground, so not to easy to trace-made a world of difference replacing inner and outer though.

With this sort of problem you really have to do a visual inspection in the area you think the noise is coming from using a lever to check for worn components.---
