Any reason this tourer should be avoided?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ESTATE-200...item3397f575ea
We have just found out we have another baby on the way so before too long my 190 saloon will need to be replaced by a tourer or ztt (please let me know if you are selling) I have been watching this one for a while,I first saw it on gumtree and it has been for sale for a very very long time.Price has just been dropped by £100 I know it is a low spec and probably very underpowered engine but apart from that is there anything which the more experienced car buyers amongst you can instantly spot which rings alarm bells? Many thanks |

I think that's been on Gumtree since the tail end of last year
If memory serves me, he wanted about £500 more for it at that time. |

I wonder if people go to view and are then put off by something. to be honest I am now put off by the fact it will have been sitting for so long.It seems a lot of car for the cash but as Jules said it could be a money pit. |

I started looking for a 75 Tourer last November/December, and that one was always popping up on my gumtree searches. I actually bought an MG ZTT in January, so it's certainly been available for quite some time.
However, as it's only 40 miles or so from you - it's got to be worth a look. |

And l don't think you need to worry about the engine being very underpowered unless there's something wrong with it.

It'll get you there but with a loaded car you need to work it a bit.

You'll not be fleeing about with the wee ones anyway. Nothing worse than the smell of stale spew on a hot day! My pal has a 1.8 ZT, he reckons it's perfectly adequate for family life. Not a flying machine by any stretch but cheap to keep and run and it's not bad if worked. It's got to be worth a look but go sceptical and give it a good going over.

I'd be looking for a CDTi Tourer if I were you. But then I like 50+mpg and not worrying about how much a journey is costing me.
