I would doubt it if they have been erased from the memory card.
I always like to back my photos up regularly on the PC |

There are ways of retrieving data from the SD card.
As the photos have been deleted though, it will recognise the area as free space and will overwrite them, by using the device. If you want to recover the photos you need to remove the SD card ASAP. That will give you a much better chance for data recovery.

Download this http://www.pcinspector.de/SmartRecov...htm?language=1
and it will scan every sector and recover every image it can find on the smart card, or from the phone memory if you connect it as a storage device via usb |

If you had your back up settings on you may be able to retrieve your photos via your Google account.

Thanks I'll give the recovery option a go, my wife had only got back from visiting her family abroad a day before the photos got deleted, which is why they hadn't been stored in the PC and why she's do upset

Whatever data recovery software you chose to use, always recover to a separate drive. In other words do not retrieve the images back to the source (in this case the mobile's SD card).
Usually deleting a file removes just the index. Data recovery software can re-instate those indexes. However, once the indexes are removed the OS sees the files as free space, and you can end up overwriting un-recovered images with recovered ones. I hope that makes sense!

My best recommendation is http://www.restorer-ultimate.com/ sadly it's not free but is fairly cheap and probably the best in it's price range. Choose the pro version at $50 as it's only a little bit more than the basic one. This is equal to other systems that cost a lot more. It will scan drives with faulty sectors, save drive maps, and doesn't modify the drive you're scanning so it's a proper professional tool. I have the previous version 'Restorer 2000', used it loads when I had a PC repair shop and it never let me down. You can make easy money with it. |
