Default 2001 75 diesel 2.0L cdt 3000RPM fault.fixed

Hi I am trying to find out what is causing problem on my cdt.The car is running nice below 3000RPM but as soon as it reaches 3000RPM it just shuts down.It keeps running. It is like you just hit a birck wall.It will not cut out but will not go over 3000RPM limit.Would be greatfull if anyone could give some insight into this.Thank You.

It sound electrical, but check that the turbo pipe in front of the battery, the one going to the EGR, is not delaminating and folding in on it self.
Have you checked the usual, PVC and EGR as a matter of course ?

Does it do this when driving only or also when revving in neutral ?

sounds like a fuel pump problem to me ... had a freelander doing the same .. people said it was the airflow meter but that showed up ok the pump wasnt giving the pressure it should of been giving ,the faster you go the more fuel required if the pump aint up to it your struggle to get more revs as the fuel pressure wont be there .

Hi Craig the pipes seem fine and the EGR and PVC have been serviced and look to be working broperly.A friend with a 2.0L BMW told me he had the same problem with his.He said that the ECU had put a governer on the engine.I have had overheating problem on mine faulty thermostat.Have sorted this problem out.Could this have something to do with it.It does this also in neutral.
