Default Door open Warning light coming on

This one is really starting to bug me. When I go out in the car, after about 10-15 mins of driving the door open warning light comes on the dash. the first time it happened I stopped and checked all doors, boot and bonnet and all were shut properly. I always lock the doors when I'm in the car so I don't think it is anything actually coming open.

My theory currently is that a connection break is opening up at the car gets warm so most likely somewhere under the bonnet. Anyone else had this?

Cheers

Phil

This is usually caused by the bonnet trip switch. Try screwing down the two rubber buffers either side of the slam panel. This may be enough to keep the switch off, but avoid overdoing it or the closure line will be spoiled. If it needs more adjustment, stick a cork disk on the bonnet panel above the switch. This will cetainly work once you've closed the gap enough. (Self-adhesive cork discs (feet) available from Wilkinsons).

Thanks for the tips T-Cut.

Went out this morning to have a look (alarm went off about 6 times last night) and tried pressing the switch right in to test and no better. So figured the switch might be faulty, went to remove it and found the wiring was frayed and one of the wires snapped when I moved it.

Gonna have to be a bumper off job to get to the wires to repair them...happy days
