Default DC fridge in a car

Hi, I have been given a small fridge that has either AC or DC power supply to use in our office but the fan is a bit noisy in our quiet office.

So im thinking it would be handy in the tourer during the summer months. How much power with it take from the battery when the engine is not running?

I wish. Just one of the types of fridges that would be in a boot of a car or maybe a caravan etc.

I had one of these. Not much use in the summer as mine couldn't cope with the extreme heat when the car was left unattended. Not so bad if you take the food out once you reach your destination.

I've since got a camping electric cool box from halfords - more room and better insulated.

The sticker on the back says 30watts DC 36watts AC so I'd think the meter was fairly accurate taking into account any increased series resistance. It takes an age to cool though.

I think the one I have been given is a proper camping / caravan / touring type fridge. It measures about 16" high and about 12" square and will hold a reasonable amount.

Ah I see. The fridge I was referring to was one of those ones that was popular a few years ago, probably held approx a dozen Coke cans (330ml size). Still a useable bit of kit, it could even be switched between heating or refrigerating.

On either, I still find its useful to pop a couple of freezer blocks in as well in summer.
