Default Virus problem

I seem to have a nasty bit of software on my computer. AVG has put up a detection of 'MalSign.OpenCandy.7AF' howver it can't seem to get rid. It keeps asking to remove then restart however when the computer comes back on it's still there. Does anyone know how to get rid of it?

Search the microsoft website for Security Scanner. It's about a 100mb download (from memory), and run a full scan.

Depending on your OS, windows defender is probably installed already.

Malware Bytes, free trial download or £19-95 per year. I've just been hit with one that pops up ads at every click, cleared it right off.

A handy little tool is 'spybot'
Been using it for a few years now with out issue. Not a replacement for anti virus, just a little extra help

"Malicious Software Removal Tool" from Microsoft worked for me when one of my machines had a virus that none of the other tools I tried could deal with.

Try turning off system restore and then clearing virus as it is probably re-installing the virus.
