Default Cost of fixing airbag and abs problems

Hi,
Got my car to a T4 today to work out why i get airbag fault and abs fault on the message centre and it turns out it's the drivers side impact sensor doing the airbag fault and the front nearside abs sensor.

What would be a reasonable quote to get both of these sorted? I just want to see i the garage are going to try it on!

To complicate matters both the led warning lights have been removed from the IPK so the garage say they'll have to replace the whole cluster to clear the faults. I haven't got a quote yet but looking on rimmers I was alarmed to see it is £480 for a new cluster! (i understand it has to be a new one)
Is this the going rate for a new cluster?

Cant say what a garage would charge as these are items i would replace myself.

The IPK can be repaired easily enough its only 2 leds so no need for a new one!!

Thanks I have bought the leds already -is it a case of some simple soldering? I have some soldering skills so it would be great if I could get the lights fixed then have the garage do the rest (don't have much outside space to work on a car)

Drivers side impact sensor can be replaced by yourself - you just need to find a trader selling some

Thanks, but I have some already -they are so tiny!
How much would you charge for a new cluster? The garage is about to ring me with their quote.

You dont need new clusters any more, we can recycle and reuse old ones

If it was just the leds removed i would guess you have a low-line IPK?

Ah, is that by transferring the EEPROM chip?

I have a high line with the message centre -that's how I know it has faults. I'm not sure how the dealer got through the MOT as it clearly flashes up the faults at startup.

I got the quote £1240 to fix everything! £680 alone just for a new cluster -that's more than the car cost! I said thanks but no thanks and drove the car back across South London in rush hour traffic -at least I found out my fan resistor repair has been effective!

Thats one way but those of us who are lucky enough to own a T4 can reprogram the eeprom back to new status and then use the T4 to code it in.

As its been said those items are easy to replace yourself and you end up saving a fortune too!!

That sounds easier than £680! I am going to try and solder leds back in.

As for my ABS fault, the T4 got a fault code of "incorrect toothed gear fitted to one of wheels" for the n/s front. I haven't found much on the internet about this but what I have points towards the wheel bearing being fitted the wrong way!
