Towing Mirrors
I am not sure whether I legally need mirrors or not with my caravan being a folder - but, I want to be on the safe side. What brand mirrors are people using with their 75, so I know they fit!

I use Milenco Aeros. They fit nice and securely. Only downside is that with them fitted you may not be able to electrically adjust your mirrors. I don't find this a problem though.

I am getting more and more people tell me I don't need them. Any comments? I can see the total area surrounding my caravan, as it folds down well below what I can see via my review as well as side mirrors. It literally flat packs, hence me purchasing.

does this help?
https://www.caravanwise.co.uk/carava...g-mirrors.html I think if trailer is wider then car you need them. I use milenco but find I need to tilt the cars mirrors down so the milenco one will fit macafee2 |

As the post above: Hitch up ... place someone 20m back and get them to move from 0 to 4m from the side line of your trailer on both sides .... if you can see them all the time you are legal, if not, get extension mirrors.

I've used Milenco's for 6 years on both the 75 and the XF and find they fit ok.
Yes they are a tight fit on the chromed mirrors but I can still adjust the electric mirrors. Just one note make sure they're on nice and tight. I lost one just a few miles from home and I reckon I had slacked it off on the car mirror whilst adjusting the Milenco. I always do a test for tightness after adjusting them now. BTW the mirror that came off was intact and lying on the road. I pulled up and walked back to collect but just yards off it, a car driver hadn't spotted it on the outside lane and smashed it to pieces |

I don't think I will need them, I can see over the top of it in the rearview, so there are no gaps in my vision. However, I have been told the law considers the rearview supplementary, so it doesn't count. Basically, if a cop sits in my car and he can't see everything from the wing mirrors, I can get fined. My luck this year has been catastrophic, so I have ordered a set. Its cheaper than points and £1000 fine they can give!

I must admit I don't bother fitting them when I bring the caravan back from the farm, where it is stored, about 7 miles away.
