Help! Squeak and knock on idle? Disappears when clutch pedal is pressed.
Afternoon everyone,
The striped one is being a bit of a pain in the last week I have an issue when the car is up to temperature that there is a slight knock and squeak that disappears when the car is put into gear. My initial thoughts were the release bearing but I thought I would 'put it to the floor' for the opinions of the fine folks of this forum. Many Thanks in advance. Luke |

Might be worth having a good look at your engine mountings, just to eliminate them.
Good luck. |

The release bearing shouldn't be working on tick over.
That squeak and knock that disappears when you push down the clutch pedal would, I believe, be coming from somewhere else.--- |

I had to scrap OTTs little brother in December. It was a 2002 MGTF160 and looked immaculate from the top. Underneath the suspension and subframe were rotten. To fix it would have cost a bomb. It had passed it's MOT the previous December with no trouble.
