Default ZT X500 #001 now in private hands

ZT X500 #001 now in private hands, Blue Flash.

A fantastic car.
I saw it at its first meet at Tenterden in 2007 after MGOC finished it.
The engine.

Wonder why mgoc sold it?
Am I right in thinking this was a one - off rally car, whereas the zt385 would have been ultimate production model?

Wanted to sell it about three years ago but did not want to sell to anyone other than an enthusiast. The car needs 'personal' attention as it was the forerunner to all V8's. From this car MGR realised the 32V block would not work in a production car so changed to the 16V. 001 does not have much of a cabin heating system due to the lack of space. Also though it has the highest status in the world of V8'dom being the first, it needs care and attention to run smoothly and the MGOC did not have the time and drive to keep it going.

A bit of spec on the car.

Quad Cam. 500 BHP, Roush engine.
Tremec T56 6 Speed.
355mm four pot AP Racing front brakes.
Wide arch body kit.
Re-furbished by MGOC in 2007.

"Paul is a normal bloke"... nice one Tim!! made me laugh that did (honestly),try telling my wife that!!,as you say I do indeed now own it,just starting to learn my way around the car, with regards to the heating I cannot find it ..none!,left hand does get warm though as the heat escapes from the gear stick surround!,the car is on a limited mileage policy of 3k,and I covered more mileage on the delivery date than it covered in 8 years previously.A substantial info package also came with the car... old MOT's and lots of unseen pictures that came on a memory stick, and reams of paperwork etc,as and when I get around to it I will gladly share with members on the R75/ZT OC and of course the 260's forum.
