Default Interior chrome handle surrounds removal

Could someone explained how to remove and replace the interior chrome handle surrounds without breaking them?

It glued or plastic welded on the lugs if you have a closer look at the rear.

Thanks for the quick response Joe.

I haven't got the door card off, or the handle removed. Basically the chrome surround has broken off with door card inplace. I thought a replacement surround would just clip on.

Afraid you'll probably find its gonna be a new handle

Tried glueing mine back when it happened , lasted about 2 weeks .

Use a good Glue as mentioned, I also lined mine up with the 'markings' it had left on the door card fabric - that way its fairly aligned. Glue it and leave for 24 hours - i used poundland's super glue and its held for months now

If you get the door card off and remove it you can touch where the broken lugs were with a hot soldering iron and "weld " it back together, we have done lots of these at nano meets without any problems after, in fact both my front ones were repaired that way a while ago and still going strong

Default Handle trim

Hi, I glued mine in place using a strong epoxy and wedged a screwdriver between top and bottom with the handle holding it in on the middle.
I left it like that for 24 hours to make sure the trim didn't move and for the glue to set.
At first I was thinking of holding it place with masking tape until the glue was hard but the wedge was better due to the pressure the exerted by the handle.
I'm quite. Pleased with the fix.
I hope I don't have to strip down the door card again though!
