Pitted Headlights
I got my ZT at the end of December when i finally managed to give it a full valet noticed the Headlights were pitted and cloudy. After much searching of DIY products I found a company Glas Weld who do Headlamp restoration. The tech (Richard) that visited me was very helpful and did a fantastic job my headlights look like new.

Can you upload some photos before and after to show other members who may be interested?
I'm with Champion on this, bought the Meguiars Restoration kit and spent about half hour on each light with great results. It all depends how bad the lenses were, and how capable and competent you are with a drill to do it yourself. |

Did mine 3 weeks ago. No problem.
Used 400 grade wet and dry then liquid brass polish. Perfect result. Started off as pics below. Now clear. ----( Cost, Nowt. All by hand. No drill used just in case of overdoing it. ) Colvert. Last edited by COLVERT; 12th February 2014 at 15:35.. |

I know it is a bit late for the OP, I have used this on my old Passat. The headlights had some bizarre deep scratches almost gouges on them (and the bumper) which I hadnt noticed when I bought it. I would advise a high speed drill, for it, but it took the worst of the gouges/scratches out and polished them up perfectly! Be prepared to mask off the area though, I opened the bonnet and only masked off half the engine bay thinking that would do, it didnt! But it hosed off ok.
The secret is to keep the surface well lubricated (with water) and not too much pressure, as the heat can melt or crack the lens. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Headlight-...item588b7f2377 |
