Swapping all the ecu's from a BMW?
http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...1&postcount=44
This came up here and I'd like to dissect it further. My question is, are all the various BMW ECU's the same plug fitment as the Rover? Could I get a scrap 3 series the same as mine i.e. a diesel auto and swap every ECU? |

Some of the ECU's will plug in, but not all of them, and as an aside why would you want to do it anyway Brian |

Shawn.
Perhaps you might be able to get the BMW scanner to talk to the T4 software then you might be able to do everything you want, I'm no computer programmer though, its just a thought.

It would be easier to buy a BMW and start from there, INPA and PA Soft is readily available as you know, and will access all of the functions you wish to play with. The way the modules are coded together on the 75 is similar, but full functionality of reading things like the body control unit using INPA or Ediabas simply isn't possible with off the peg software I'm afraid. You can if you like if your car is fitted with a message centre IPK, manipulate the EEprom dump from the IPK to enable a digital speedometer, however make sure you back up the original eeprom dump first Brian |
