Default Trooping the Colour

Just now watching the ceremony on TV, a splendid occasion by any standards with the whole world looking on. Everything immaculate.

Curiously, I wonder who else noticed the coach being drawn by the huge greys. To my jaundiced eyes they were walking in unison too, just like the soldiers. I never realised horses could be left or right-hoofed. Who shouts ‘by the left slow march’?

Watching it now as I type. Seeing the standing water on Horse Guards I did feel for the troops who had to march/splash their way through it.

We watched the Red Arrows over the sea at Caister on Sea on their way to the palace. Well done to all the lads and lasses for putting on a good show for us (including all the graft that went on behind the spit and polish).

Despite the weather, an outstanding display.

Well done His Majesty, though he looked unwell, but standing through that was brilliant.

Great to see Catherine, Princess of Wales, and the children.

Note the pavement restrictions around the Victoria Memorial further reducing the opportunities for spectators.
