Default V8's around the 4k mark?

Is that a target price? if I'd realised they could be had that cheap I wouldn't have jumped in and bought the V6, live and learn.

Only if someone desperately needs the money & for that price will usually be non SE so a lower spec.
Good spec/condition R75 V8 & MG ZT 260's still fetch decent prices.

I think there has been one or two that low, so yes very good buys, mainly you will find them between 6k to 8k depending on age mileage etc. Although with the V8 because there are so few there is no real bench mark so if the seller has no real idea of how rare his car may be then yes they can be had for that sort of money.
