I have no experience of the MG7 fitted radio as I've never come across one in the flesh. If it has standard rca phono audio inputs then any external 12volt dab receiver could be used with it. Other than that I can't assist any further I'm afraid.

A quick look here suggests that your unit should have AM and FM radio, if you also have DVB-T you'll also have some digital radio stations via that already. Although judging by the info here;
http://carstuffsale.com/en/items/326/hl-8726gb.html It doesn't have DVB-T as standard, so is this an extra add-on that you have?

I think hus query may have been prompted byt the report yesterday by the working party on digital radio being implemented nationwide with fm it appears that rather a switch over day as happened with tv the proposal is a gradual transfer to give everyone time to get appropriate recievers and for car radiod either new units or a inline adapter allowing people like the OP to modify his unit, they are avaliable now I believe Kinetic DAA-7001 FM/AM to DAB/RM/AM car aerial splitter/adaptor

If the head unit has rca audio inputs ( like yours does Mike ) you could get an external unit that plugs into those inputs which in theory would give a better sound reproduction

Well as the proposed transfer isnt until 2020 I wont be too bothered abput it one other thing while I am here jeff, how do I get back to the simple sat nav programme as the complex one is just that too complex for the likes of me !! the simple version is more like my garmin so makes me more relaxed, I do like the advance features though its a comfort to be told to drive staight for 20 miles LOL may have to cancel the visit on friday but will know in next couple of days
