Default Vista Antispyware 2012

The bleep bleepers are getting ahead of themselves - only halfway through 2011 and they've got next year's out already.

I somehow got this on my computer in the early hours of Friday morning but have managed to get rid of it today with the help of bleepingcomputer.com and Malwarebytes anti-malware.

So, just a little warning to keep your guards up.

You did well then, I couldnt shift it off mine without a re-load. It knocked out all my anti virus, malware scanners etc and wouldnt let me use the internet properly either. Theres a widows XP version of it too.

I couldn't use anything, no programs would open, no internet browser was allowed to run. I downloaded Malwarebytes to a USB stick on another computer and transferred it that way. There's also a little registry fix on that website I referred to to help get your malware stuff running.

There are loads of variants for all operating systems. The thing no-one should never do is click yes or no on any of its screens or you will end up with loads of bad stuff on your computer, as well as paying money if you go through with it.

If you can boot your computer into safe-mode you can actually remove it manually if you know what you are looking for.... It is a pig to do, but sometimes you haven't got any other option.

I've done this a few times on customers PC as they dont have a backup of photos etc.

If only the little scrotes learnt to write proper programs then we'd have better software.

It runs in safe mode as well so it means a bit of delving into the registry if you can't get Malwarebytes to run normally. Fortuanately it did for me so I was alright.

I take it you don't think a re-education program would work then?
