The Berlin Wall
I was listening to the "Golden Hour" and one of the clues was it was the year that the Berlin Wall was taken down.
It was 1989 and I guessed the year correctly. Then, the DJ said that the Berlin Wall has now been dismantled for a longer period of time, than when it was up! Where did all those years go?

Ooh, the Golden Hour takes me back down a distant memory lane. I remember it mainly for the Our Tune slot ... cue Franco Zeffirelli and his ... sob, sniff ... Nino's Rotten jingle. I would sometimes catch it in the morning as I went around in circles - morning mist permitting in the fens of Norfolk.

I was serving in the RAF and stationed in Berlin when the wall came down. I was at a tenpin bowling league night and a tannoy announcement was made asking us to suspend play - which we did - and when things had gone quiet we were informed that the border had been opened.
