Default Help finding Ibus

Where is my ibus?

I have a 1.8 petrol ZT, 03/04. I have downloaded Navcoder and a bought a usb-serial port interface to read the diagnostic codes.

I have read the various threads on the Hans gauge. These describe the ibus cable as red/white with yellow blobs on it. However, I can't find one of these. The closest I have is red/white with no yellow. Here are some pics of the wiring:

Is there another way that I can identify the ibus other than by the cable colour?

Thanks,

Don't know if Hans Gauge wiring is same as E-Zee digital coolant gauge, but as mine shows data from the OBD I assume so. The red/white cable does have a yellow tracer but it's not along the length it's a series of 'hoops' at approx 25mm intervals set 90 degrees to red/white. The Red cable for switched live may also be a green/white stripe at lower end (VISIBLE) but connected to solid red higher up the loom. More info may be had from Vindaloo who originally had a Hans Gauge and was instrumental in obtaining E-Zee replacement.

Thanks Chips,

The red/white cable on mine definitely has no yellow hoops or blobs. I am waiting for Vindallo to get more EZ gauges in, so I have asked him if he knows of any other colours for the ibus. I can find any reference to them other than R/W with Y. So, maybe I just have to strip down more of the facia to find one.

Cheers,

Bothy

I knew I had seen a picture of this and yes I did think it was 'Pab' but could I find it a few weeks ago when I needed it, of course not, so spent a while tracking the switched live (green/white in photo) and having established it was right, then found further up it was indeed solid red I had been looking for!

Also thought you used to have links to useful info in your signature?

I've just checked mine, I don't have the I-bus wire either, was this only with models that had the Highline?

Don't think so mine has info centre and Symphony head unit, the wires are found behind the radio, in fact the Symphony has a blank plate on r/h side front panel and this is where my coolant level sensor and temp gauge are placed, in line of sight day or night, with display on temp gauge dim/bright by dashboard thumbwheel (rheostat)

Thanks Pab knew my memory was not at fault, even looked in the How To's but missed it, if only I had looked a second time would have saved a fair amount of time with the multi-meter.
