Windows 10, LAST CHANCE for FREE!
This is the last day for Win 10.
Microsoft’s Windows 10 upgrade will cease to be free as of tomorrow, so users who have not yet taken advantage of the deal need to act quickly. The tech giant first unveiled its biggest software update yet a year ago and offered it as a free update to those already using Windows 7 or Windows 8 - but only for a limited time. The deal officially ends on 29 July at 23:59 UTC-10, which makes the cutoff point 10:59am on 30 July UK time (Saturday morning). Windows users who don’t take advantage of the free upgrade before the deadline will have to pay £99.99 for Window 10 Home if they want the firm’s latest software - or £189.99 for the Pro version. There you have it, not long to go so make your mind up, free or buy later when updates for Win7 and Win 8 cease in the way XP did, though it will be several years away yet and by then you probably need a new PC with it on by then. I bought my Lenovo G70 lap top 8.1 windows i5 17.3" laptop at the end of November, but carried on with my old computer. In January they were making the same Lenovo with Windows 10
I got my new computer out of the cupboard, in July, just before the free windows 10 update was over. I have no problem with it so far. I hated windows 8.1 on a mates computer though.

Apparently you can still, for now, get W10 free if you "say" that you use assistive technologies, ie magnifier, on screen keyboard etc.
May not last too long though. http://www.ghacks.net/2016/07/29/you...-july-29-2016/ Cheers .

Started updating at 8am and finished at 9:45am I cannot see any updates that will affect me and only saw about three in the start list. I have a calendar/clock in place of the windows one on the right hand side of task bar and now the darn thing will not fit on, even with the removal of the notification button Grrrrrrrrr. Ken. |

I have the latest version of win10 on my computer with all of the latest gubbins, I like win10 but you do need a powerful machine to use it fully, in my opinion. I have it on a Dell i7 XPS machine and I like it. I love win7 and have that on another machine but win10 is nice, I like Linux too but it will not run all of the programs I use or it would be all of my machines.
