Default iphone 5 replacement battery needed

Evening all. I replaced a iphone 5 battery recently and it turned out to be useless. I bought it from ebay and the seller isn't interested. Has anyone else replaced one and can they recommend a place to buy?

I recently bought an OEM new battery for the iPhone 4s via the Amazon US website for around $9. A relative brought it out to me and I did the install myself. It was not that difficult to do, just a bit fiddly. The fiddly bit was putting the antenna back in the right place and connected.

Bad luck about your awful experience with eBay.

These things happen but always prefer a recommendation before buying things like that. They are pretty easy to replace, took no longer than 15 mins.

I followed an instructional video from the tube on how to do it. Interestingly the new battery I put in was dated 2012 but still works. I did not know that Apple would not do a replacement.

When I got back to Kenya, that gave me the confidence to change the case and the screen, as the case and LCD screen was smashed after I had dropped it.

I had a reconditioned iPhone 4s which I had bought from eBay 2 months ago. The phone turned out to be a dud, in that it would not work and kept on connecting to iTunes for updates, but would go no further. The warranty only lasted 14 days, by which time I had used it up, in returning to Kenya.

Ultimately I made a mess of changing over the LCD screen from the smashed up phone and took everything to a mobile phone electronics repair shop in Nairobi.

They changed the motherboard over from the donor phone, changed the LCD screen and the new case from the donor. They did this in just over an hour and only charged me the equivalent of £15, all in. It is as though I have a new phone and everything is working okay. The screen is now protected with Gorilla glass.

The bay can still be a great place to pick up a bargain. But as a result of my own recent bad experience, I look at Amazon.
