Default 2.5 Doesn't want to start when engine hot

Had a problem over the last week or so.

If the car has been run in the last 1.5 Hours its reluctant to start.
It turns over ok but won't fire.

If it's been run in the last few minutes it really don't want to start!

I changed the fuel pump relay, but no improvement.

Any idea's ?

I just plugged a fault code reader in but no codes.
TPS seamed a little high at 11 ?
Fan cutting in at 100°C

Thank you

cam shaft sensor is the fisrt place to look and usually the culprit
take off engine cover its close to the pil filler held on by one 8mm bolt

easiest way to test it is either swap it for a known good one or spray it in freeze spray / dunk it in ice when its hot then see if it starts right up without waiting

thanks will investigate.

Other engines will run in limp mode without a cam sensor.
It would need unplugging though.

Yes, whilst the M47R and KV6 engines won't run without the cam sensor signal, the K4's with their wasted spark system will happily start without it.

It's a toss up whether they end up running with the cam timing 180 degrees out or not, but they will run.
