Smile 75 contemprary diesel 05 - Heater Problem

Hello group, I have recently purchased the above and find there is heater trouble, the A/C seems to be on all the time without setting to LO, the only time the unit gives out hot air is to set to HI - where do I start please?

Assuming it is the automatic climate type, with digital setings....

Unlike most systems where you can get them to chuck masses of heat out, these only put out the amount of heat needed to bring the temperature up to the set value. Likewise, the a/c only puts just enough cool air out to match the set temperatures.

With the present ambient temperatures it will mostly need to provide cooling, but you can shut the a/c off completely, by pressing the 'econ' button. With the 'auto' led lit, it will provide heat or cooling as it deems necessary.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

Most of these cars have climate control (C/C) so that you would have to dial in a temp high than the outer air temp to actually get any heat from it (and as the system has an inside temp sensor higher even than the temp actualy in the car when you get in it)

Conversley once the interior temp have reached the temps you have set the system will simply maintain those temps and not blow huge amounts of freezing air at you !! - this does not mean it's not working!!

C/C cars can be identified by having an electronic control panel while the manual A/C cars have rotary dials as controls!!

HTH??

Andy

AHH you beat me to it Harry!! LOL ! I started and then got diverted by the Sport (and ordering Tea)
