The reluctor ring is integral with the bearings. I believe that the pickup is quite sensitive to any movement in the bearings. My own experience has seen an ABS warning as the first sign of a bearing on its way out. You often can't tell which. I use code reader to determine which wheel as you sometimes can't hear or feel anything.

The speedo and all gauges are working as they should.
I was going to buy it to do up but i know these ABS faults can get expensive.
The has done an engine rebuild (20,000km ago) and had the auto serviced.
Any ideas re the abs light ?
What does your Toaf tell you, surely you as one of the earlier pioneers still have it?

Any traction control, meaning is the fitted ABS module the correct one or is that not available down-under?

I don't imagine damp inside the car is a problem in Perth?

Good luck

The first thing to check is that the sensor lead in the front LH wheelarch hasn't been damaged by contact with the tyre.
After that, it's diagnostics as Mike (vitesse) says to help you locate which wheel is responsible.

been a while since ive used Toaf as my main car now is a Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel these days! I still have the program on my old lap top thiugh!
Problem is I have not pulled the trigger to buy this 75 yet, had a look and drive of it twice, hence weighing up if its going to be a can of worms as the owner has tried to sort the ABS light out, changed abs module and front drivers sensor without sorting it out.

Mostly dry over here but winter is here so we do get about 2 months of rain and alot of the 75s here have sunroofs which clog up and also the infamous leaky tail light a boot seals .
Traction control - all the 75s here in Oz seemed to have TC, and the only petrol engine we got here was the 2.5 v6.
BTW- good to see some of the “old learned crew” still lurking on this forum- you are a wealth of information to all!!

Nice to hear you've still got Toaf, can be a great help.

Last year I bought a very low mileage car destined for scrap, was flooded internally with every possible warning up on the IPK.

The owner had consulted a garage in Stockholm who condemned the ABS module and wanted to send it off to Holland at a cost £1500, owner gave up with the multiple issues and the car became mine.

Stripped out the whole interior and found multiple breaks in the earthing points both left & right, inside A posts. Once cleaned and repaired most Christmas tree lights disappeared, replacement SRS sensors and no more warnings.

We tend to jump to conclusions that the ABS module must be at fault, in my case it wasn't, probably a bad earth connection to the traction control ECU.

Good luck
