Many thanks for your welcome message.

I bought my black 2003 Rover 75 1.8 K series in August 2021. At that point it had done 23,000 miles. It is now up to 29,000.

What attracted me was the the bodywork looked almost "as new" and the interior was as if it had come out the showroom!

Nevertheless, I've had to spend quite a bit on it - new timing belt, brake pipes, tires, brakes etc. Maintenance stuff.

The reason why I wanted to join the Forum is the help it provided over two curiosities which happened.

The first was the Airbag light coming on. A thread on the Forum suggested that it is due to the rubbishy connectors under the front seats. Sure enough, if I fiddle about with the wires, the light goes off.

The second was when the burglar alarm went bonkers, out of the blue. That was potentially disastrous since I had to disconnect the battery to stop this happening and the interior lights being on all the time. Again, the Forum came to the rescue and some kind people suggested the sensor under the front edge of the bonnet. It's very easy to remove and I got a new one from Rimmer Bros for about £20. Problem solved!!!!

This forum is wonderful and, given that I hope to keep the car for many years (subject to an impending inspection of the underside etc) I thought that I would join.

By the way, it was registered in Jan 2004. Will this be a Cowley built version?
