Default audio problem.

i have a 2002 75 with the symphony unit, its had a longstanding fault with the display sometimes not working. but my present issue only cropped up recently with the audio dropping out...then coming back on. today i discovered that the fault seems to be connected to the drivers window??? with the window closed i have no audio...if i drop the window an inch the audio comes back and if i fully open the window it goes off again.all other windows make no difference. can anyone shed any light on this fault as im a bit confused as to the connection between window and radio audio?
