Thank you, and good health to yourself, sir.

See I can be civil with people who are civil!

The mere suggestion of doing away with a useful facility that all forums that l know of provide as a matter of course seems particularly silly, IMO.

I've just moved my insurance back to Tesco Bank as their meerkat quote came in at nearly £150 cheaper than Hastings renewal price (it started at £220 cheaper). I haven't contacted Hastings as yet & will only do so to cancel their automatic renewal later this month.

........

A terribly silly manner in which to express a preference, IMO.

Just reciprocating the language!

In my view the term ‘Private Message’ is fully described in the rules by which we all should abide, certainly not ad hoc/whatever-the-weather motive there might be. I believe there are, after all, certain and adequate rules.

Those rules have always, as far as I am concerned at least, been observed. It all comes down to, again at least in my view, merely a matter of discretion and honour.
For me, the matter and further involvement here, is at an end. Best wishes.

It would appear that men of discretion and honour send PMs to others with opening lines:

"Gossip" and then "You certainly seem to enjoy conflict rather than experience! Once again, you persist in ad hominem attacks. What absolute arrant nonsense! But your reputation for twaddle precedes you old chap!

Apart from your offensive dismissal of another’s experience you embark on a crusade of half truths, innuendo and insult...."

How honourable!

To pick up on an earlier theme in this thread, I say that the direction of this thread smacks of age discrimination - the over 80s ganging up on us young ones (relatively speaking, of course!)

Good night all, it's time to listen to the day's campaigning by our political leadership for a bit of light relief delivered by men and women of honour.

And why not, it's the sincerest form of flattery?
