Drivers airbag fault
Hi,
I’m getting a drivers airbag fault: 0x0803 Driver airbag: High resistance on firing circuit Would this fault occur if there was an issue with the rotary coupling? Regards Kev |

I have known the rotary coupler be the problem many years ago, someone fitted a walnut steering wheel, plugged in the airbag and forgot the retainer clip.
I have never known the coupler to be at fault, did anything precede the airbag warning.

I get this on my 2003, 1.8K series engine. There are wires under the drivers and passenger seats which are spliced by little junction box connectors. The wires seem to work loose now and again (going over speed bumps!), and the Airbag light comes on. I just fiddle about trying to shove the wires back in, and it makes the light go off.
I've heard that the solution is to fit better connectors (which Rimmer Bros may have), albeit they are a wee bit awkward to get at and I've not got around to it yet. It may be that the seats have to come out to get at them properly. |
