As Discussed, there is indeed a seal on both Vis Motors and these if failed will indeed allow air intake, the fact that the balance vis has this filter/breather missing will have no bearing on the air leak. easiest way to eliminate them is to fit the original vis motors to the good manifold you have at the moment and see if the problem appears
