You'll either need to get the cluster virginised and then programmed in with a t4 or toaf, or swap the eeprom chip from your old cluster to the new one (assuming both are highline clusters).

If you plug it straight in without doing this the wrong mileage will show on the cluster (it will show the mileage of the donor car you removed the cluster from) and you will also see "ERR" on the trip display due to a vin mismatch.

Bare in mind that if you have a later reg car and have removed the cluster from an early car, the instrument cluster won't support your parking sensors, so your parking sensors won't work if you have sensors fitted. Early cars had the parking sensor sounder fitted at the rear of the car, later car's had the sounder as part of the instrument cluster.
