Trikey, Pete, Matt.... thanks for the advice. I've had the glow plugs out now, but still cannot get a turn of the engine, even to expel water from the cylinders. Seems like the bang I heard was something breaking.. piston rod, not sure really. I can't even rock the car backwards or forwards in gear, seized solid. So I am sadly on the verge of giving up and breaking the car.
