Thanks T-Cut. The AA have just left. Helpful and knowledgeable guy actually. He ran his diagnostics and got the following errors. He had also squirted some Easy Start where you're supposed to somewhere around the injectors and although it didn't start straight away, 5 mins later she fired up perfectly!!
Patrol found the following fault code/s:System : Engine control - 73L / Diesel EDC 15C4 .7680 - CAN messages. Error Message : No message from injection pump.13573 - Glow duration control. Error Message : open circuit.4704 - Prefeed pressure monitor. Error Message : Beloerating pressure.
He said he couldn't be sure that this was the problem, but it indicated that it suggests more of a sensor issue than anything more mechanical perhaps.
Again, we really need someone who knows these engines to help us out. I won't be here and my daughter isn't able to do anything...
