I think you've done the right thing... the rectangular one on my 75 used to annoy me every time I washed the car and I felt self-conscious when driving in the vicinity of another 75 who had a smiley... you know that feeling when you've got a great big spot on your face to hide...?! You can get away with it on the ZT's as you don't have the chrome shouting out "OI! THAT AIN'T QUITE RIGHT IS IT?!" but smiley edges it for me...
