It would seem that putting a pin into the plug to allow manual operation seems to disconnect the auto operation even though there is no earth (or in my case no 12v as it's an early FBH) being sent down the wire
Is this normal? Not really a problem, as I can still turn it on when I need it.

Might check your external temp sensor, found mine missing, wondered why the FBH wouldn't kick in automatically!
