We went to Brecon today and stopped off at Llywynon Reservoir. I read that that the water levels had dropped so much that an old bridge was revealed. I really wanted to see that!
The valley was flooded in 1926 and this bridge (Pont Y Daf) is the only structure that remained. It's almost always submerged, so to see it and actually walk across it was quite a treat!
Such a quiet, beautiful and tranquil place. Seeing the bridge, although awesome was also quite sad. The lost communities that had to give up their lives to make way for the reservoir... That's progress I suppose....
View from Pont Y Daf bridge, looking out over Llwyn-On Reservoir, Wales. This bridge is usually submerged under water, but due to the lack of rain this year, it is visible and you can walk across it! by
