Thanks guys. I'll check it out again. It is true that I can get the switch to work by putting my foot under the clutch pedal and lift it. However, this works once every time, so every time I want to activate the cruise I have to do this. Does this tell anything about the condition of the switch?

My brother, who owns a garage, told me the switch was faulty: he tolld me that the switch has some jagged edges (like small 'teeth') and that they had worn out.
