I have two suggestions for you.

How is your engine running? Automatic transmissions are very sensitive to engine tune so do check all the usual things.
On my other car, also an auto, I had sudden very violent gear changes, usually in and out of 2nd. The fault code said power supply to speed sensor. I re-seated the multi-pin connector to the gearbox ECU and it's been fine ever since.

The moral is, don't assume that there's something wrong with the gearbox. You might like to try the gearbox connector. I think it's the barrel shaped one at the wing near the battery.
