alanjay, I know your heart must be down in your boots at the moment but take a moment to take stock of the situation. This has up until now been a good and faithful car and it would be a shame to see another on of our esteemed marque disappear from the roads.
I think it would be worth replacing the bulb (quite an investment I know, given the value of the car) and if the worst came to the worst and your car had to be scrapped in the future, then you could always remove the bulb and fit it to your new car.
I also suggest you contact Matt (DMGRS) to see if he can help with a good deal on a suitable bulb.
