The story continues:
I managed to find the parking aid ECU, after much dismantling of linings etc. It's a black one, assume earlier type. It was clean and dry, no sign of damp.I unplugged the two connectors and applied switch cleaner then re-assembled.Still not working,just the 5second long beep .
Next I took the bumper off again and disconnected all the sensors- checked for power at all 4- yes 12v ish . re-connected and cleaned all sensors- not working. No audible clicks from any sensor either. Where to go from here? New ECU? Is it possible to bench test individual sensors by applying 12v from an external source and hopefully hearing a click or is the click derived from the ECU?
