The white immobiliser block when taken apart showed rusty areas on the relay and contact surfaces so these got a good clean up with a fibre pencil and a shot of Gt85 before rebuilding. The plug contact area on this item showed some calcium deposits and green staining due to the water getting into the plug area.
Why did they make the diesel ecu’s unsealed anyway, seems to be asking for trouble.

They have an inbuilt ambient air pressure sensor, so can't be fully sealed. The white box is the glow plug relay - they had the sense to fit the immobiliser in the cabin, although they have been known to get wet.
