The white immobiliser block when taken apart showed rusty areas on the relay and contact surfaces so these got a good clean up with a fibre pencil and a shot of Gt85 before rebuilding.
Why did they make the diesel ecu’s unsealed anyway, seems to be asking for trouble.

They were designed to live inside the car on a BMW, as we know.. in the Rover they live in the plenum (or fish bowl as we sometimes refer to it)
