In general: these units are ill equipped for the more modern codecs in use nowadays (HEVC, AV1 and such) because they are almost all based on old Android versions which have been adapted as little as possible to meet "time to market"


You could consider resampling the DVD to an older codec or you could have a look if it is possible to stream the (ripped) DVD from your (hopefully) modern phone.
thanks for your reply Sjonnie to be perfectly honest i am not very savvy with what you are saying i only know how to insert the cd/dvd and it plays when it doesn't play i am totally lost i have just purchased a cleaning disc i will try that and if that don't work god knows
